Iranian association for Technology Management is approves by Iranian scientific associations that is connected to Science, Research and Technology Ministry after two years, in 81/2/1 and this approval notified to founder board in 3/4/81.

The idea of establishing Technology association was formed in Technology Research Center of Sharif Industrial University and in advance level of Technology Management (autumn and winter of 78).

Albeit there was some effort by some of the professionals in this area before, but current founder team of association was invited and the first meeting was held at Sharif Industrial University in 7/2/79. As a result of this meeting, written request of establishing of the association (with24 signatures) with justification plan of establishing association was sent to scientific center of Science, Research and Technology Ministry in 24/2/79. Therefore, after completing documents and a lot of effort, for the first time, the plan of association was entered to related commission.

The second written request to Science, Research and Technology Ministry was sent in 15/11/79. For the second time, the plan of association was propound and was disagreed in 28/12/79. After changing in research assistant of Science, Research and Technology Ministry and replacement of Dr. Mansouri instead of Dr. Tavakol, for the third time , the request of establishing Technology Management ‘s scientific association was sent to related commission in 9/11/80 and for the third time was propound and agreed in 11/2/81.

Members of founder team consist of 25 experienced professionals, researchers and managers from different universities and organizations within country. Mentionable, deceased DR. Taghi Ebtekar was one of the founders of association.

• Cooperation to internal institution and organization that is related to Science and Technology area
• Consultant to responsible organization in developing different development program in country
• Consultant and cooperation in order to resolve the difficulties of industrial institutions
• Organizing a professional team of Technology Management
• Publishing the internal magazine with the name of “Massage of Technology Management”
• Establishing the Technology Management’s specialized library
• Establishing and up to dating the website of Iranian Technology Management’s association
• Publishing research-scientific seasonal magazine with the name of “science and technology policy” with the help of center of research and politics of country
• Cooperation with media and different news services in production of programs and news related to Technology Management
